City of Brampton information for those not familiar with Brampton:

The City of Brampton is very diverse in the population with many cultures living here. They bring a wonderful array of customs, languages, restaurants with a variety of cuisine…although we also have many Brand Name restaurants too. Did you know that Brampton has been used to Test products and businesses before they go nationwide?

We are a family city with many things for kids to do plus we have fantastic parks and lakes. Heart Lake has zip lines, walking trails, swimming and Professor’s Lake has a beach and inflatable water park in summer plus we have Parr Lake, Etobicoke Creek and many parks that have entertainment. Gage Park in Downtown Brampton has summer Rib Fest, Saturday Farmer’s Market, and the Rose Theatre and Square has a big screen movie night and live entertainment as well.

There are skate board parks, soccer fields, hiking and bicycle trails all over throughout the many parks. We have hockey arenas, indoor swimming and exercise facilities all over the city. There are tons of programs from arts to sports and for any age…even the seniors have a building for programs.

Transit includes Brampton Bus, GO Train (3 locations), GO Bus, ZUM bus, Mississauga and Vaughan transit connections and Wheel Trans also. Soon we will connect with Mississauga with the LRT to the downtown core.

Education includes all kinds of elementary and high schools, Sheridan College, private schools and learning centres, help for those who do not have English as their language and even Trade Schools.

HOSPITALS: The William Osler Hospital on Bovaird services a very large community in Brampton and the surrounding area of Caledon too. We have plans now for a SECOND hospital to be built near the present Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness. The province has authorized this high rise building to better serve the community.

NOTE: There ARE Doctors who are taking new patients within the City of Brampton so don’t worry about that aspect of a move to Brampton.

Want to get away and enjoy a day off but not travel too far:

We are minutes to Georgetown and Glen Williams that has many artisan shops where you can watch potters, weavers, glass blowing, painters or enjoy a nice lunch or ice cream in town. You could visit the Beaumont Mill Antiques & Collectibles that use to be a mill on the Credit River. That is an interesting place for young and old. You can also look into the tubing on the Credit River or bring your fishing pole and try your luck.

You could hike on the Canada Trail that goes through Caledon and Georgetown and see how much of it you can hike. There is a great Art Gallery in Alton just south and west of Orangeville that is fun and has a water fall to view. The town of Orangeville has lots to offer a family as well for a day’s adventure. They have a Rock Festival with classic cars and the Fall Fair that is fun to attend.

Another interesting spot unique to Caledon is the Badlands with the reddish coloured ground. Look up their site but COME BACK TO US.
